Today, When I was picking up some food ingredients from a grocery store to prepare a dish of black bean and brown rice with seasoned venison strips, I just noticed an interesting thing that happened…..
After training a couple clients at the gym, I went straight to the grocery shop and picked up some frozen veggies. Suddenly, a friendly lady (may have noticed my dress and understood that I am a gym coach) asked for my advise pointing on some food items which she was preparing to buy (the ingredients were highly processed crap full of sodium and other chemicals).
I looked at her and found that the she was VERY overweight.The lady told me that despite her doing “everything” to loose her extra fatness, she could not succeed. In this respect I have experienced that about 50 people a day tell me they have “tried everything” to get a stout and slimier body. But most of the cases I found that they are trying all the wrong things….they are trying all of the fake and unhealthy methods to lose their weight rather following the right way to keep their health sound and fit.
Lets go back to the lady in the store…The lady started to tell about her struggling to get a proper shape, and I took a look in her grocery chart. In that chart I found some of the ingredients which the lady considered as healthy. Those were:
Slim fast shakes (not at all healthy…they are actually full of high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, and a mixture of other chemicals)
Fat Free Rice Cakes (although the name sounds good but it is nothing but a refined starch with zero fiber, which basically breaks down immediately into sugar in the body, destroys insulin and promotes fat storage)
Protein bars with written “Scientifically Slim Body Engineered” or some BS statement like that (As I took a look over the ingredients of these so called protein bars and I found the same case:.. full of hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and enough sugar alcohols which is sufficient enough to make you suffer with diarrhea for a week!)
It is often seen that most of the peoples are fooled with the colourful remark on the FRONT OF THE BOX, which lead them to believe that it is a healthy item to consume. All of these unhealthy food items come with alluring remark on the front of the package like “fat free”, “reduced sugar”, “high protein”, “low cholesterol”, “low carbohydrate”, etc.
However, we find the TRUE picture on the BACK OF THE BOX! Under all the alluring remark on the front , we find some unhealthy ingredients in these items which are really destroying our hard effort to loose some weight and to become a healthy person. But most of the common people are ignorant about the ingredient list and nutrition info, they depends upon the advertising claims on the front of the package and often deceived by the alluring remarks.
